Nordic Gnome Felting

What you'll do
Join Hanna Wood for a warm and welcoming hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to transform fluffy wool into a fun and creative gnome (or tomte) using simple tools and techniques.
During this workshop, you will:
- Learn the basics of needle felting, including tools, materials, and safety tips
- Shape wool fibres into the basic form of a gnome
- Explore layering, blending colours, and simple sculpting techniques
This workshop offers more than just a new skill — it’s a creative and meditative experience that invites you to slow down and focus on the gentle rhythm of needlework.
You’ll leave with a completed gnome perfect for the Christmas table. By the end of the session, you’ll feel confident and inspired to continue needle felting on your own!
Knowledge required
No prior experience needed. This workshop is beginner-friendly and designed for all skill levels.
What you’ll get
- All materials and tools provided on the day, including – felting needles, felting mat, and wool roving in beautiful colours
- Step-by-step instruction to create a felted gnome

Yes, but we do require advance notice of 14 days or more.
This notice period allows us to either secure new participants or make a decision to postpone the course for all attendees. A fee of $85 (per person) applies for late cancellations.
If you are seeking to reschedule to a new date & time, this will be subject to course availability and is at the discretion of The Studio by Kennelbrook®.
As you would probably expect, a public workshop is open to anyone and everyone; whereas a private workshop is for closed groups and creates a more private and relaxed experience.
Private workshops are perfect for friends and family or even work groups who are looking to connect in an informal and fun way.
